Phil Ochs standing in front of American FlagOne-legged veterans will greet the dawn
And they’re whistling marches as they mow the lawn
And the gargoyles only sit and grieve
The gypsy fortune teller told me that we’d been deceived
You only are what you believe
I believe the war is over
It’s over, it’s over

Off Eno’s album Before and After Science, released in 1977. The song was released in a remixed version as a single in the UK but it didn’t chart. “Kings Lead Hat” is an anagram for “Talking Heads” whom Eno later collaborated with/produced from 1978-1980.

Intro by Bob Hope

Comments indicate it from Central Park but that’s all I have to go with.
